Omer Owen Johnston, Jr., age 77, of Dawson Springs, KY passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, September 1, 2025. Mr. Johnston was born on August 14, 1948 in Ilsley, KY to the late Omer Owen Johnston, Sr. and Ida Myrtle Johnston.
Mr. Johnston is survived by his wife of 59 years ~ Freida Johnston; two children ~ Melissa (Mike) Morris and Brian (Sharon) Johnston; four grandchildren ~ Kristopher (Austin) Stringfield, Crystal (Neal) Spaulding, Anthony Johnston and Alex (Heather) Beecham; three great-grandchildren ~ Kaleb Stringfield, Riley Spaulding and Liam Spaulding; a sister and three brothers.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Omer was a towboat captain and was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears and the University of Kentucky Wildcats. He also loved to play cards and cheat at solitaire (HOUSE RULES!)
There will be no services for Omer Owen Johnston, Jr.at this time.
