Opal Melinda Cummings

Opal Melinda Cummings, 84, of Tuscumbia, AL, died on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, in Florence, Alabama. Opal enjoyed being outdoors working in her flower beds and gardens, cooking, spending time with family and friends, and designing floral arrangements. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Opal could often be found reading her bible and listening to worship and gospel music. She was a long time member of Harmony Hill Baptist Church. Opal is survived by her daughter, Jackie Witt (Dwight) of Tuscumbia, AL; the father of her children, Jack Cummings; her grandchildren, Archie "AJ" Hubbard, Sean Hubbard, Kayla Rogers, Josh Cummings, and Jessica Cummings; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Emma Wilson; her son, Jerry Cummings; and her siblings, Lloyd Wilson, Jewel Henderson, Lou Parker, Freda Wilson, Lucian Wilson, Odester Wilson, and Dimple Barrett. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, March 4, 2023, from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Services will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at 1:00 P.M., at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, MS officiated by Bro. Ken Garner. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Archie Hubbard, Sean Hubbard, Josh Cummings, and Adam Smith. Donations may be made in Opal's honor to the El Reposo Nursing Home.
