Ora Barnes Prior

Our beloved mother Ora Barnes Prior was born on August 19, 1954, to the late Otis Barnes Sr. and the late Eula Mae Barnes in Columbia, MS.
Ora attended Jefferson High School in Columbia, MS family later moved to Gulfport, MS in 1966, where she attended North Gulfport School and graduated from Harrison Central High School. She was baptized at Greater Freewill Church of God in Christ and was a faithful member until her health started to decline. She came in under the leadership of the late Superintendent Morris Robinson.
Ora worked many years as a Patient Certified Assistant at Lakeview Nursing home. Ora worked varies of jobs throughout her life.
Ora was a very outgoing person who loved life to the fullest. She was a caring and loving person. Loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She used to love going to garage sales, fishing and bingo with her late mother-in-law the Mrs. Elnora Prior. She loved having family gatherings and she was always caring for others.
Ora was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Otis Barnes Sr. and Eula Mae Barnes. Her brothers Gary Barnes, Larry Barnes, Terry Barnes, Jerry Barnes, Barry Barnes, Glen Barnes, Douglas Barnes, Otis Barnes Jr. and two special aunties Mrs. Emma Lee Holmes and Mrs. Leo Bristel.
Ora will be forever remembered by her two children Erica Sims Prior (Kenny) and Charles Sims Jr. (Janet), brother Rufus Barnes of Biloxi, MS and two sisters Cora Barnes of Biloxi, MS, Beverly Barnes of Gulfport, MS. Grandchildren Orianna Sims, Keanna Ingram, Timothy Sims, Kiezia Savage, Tacoby Ross, Denisha Williams. Great grandchildren Ja'mariun Jones, A'myeria Ingram, Ar'money Ingram. Special nieces Tiffany Barnes, Cynthia Barnes Moody and nephew Allen McCann. Special friends Perentis Prior, Mrs. Cora Emerson and a host of relatives and friends.
"I have fought a good fight; I have finished my course.
I have kept the faith; henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness,
which the Lord the righteous Judge shall give me at that day
and not to me only but unto all of them also that love his appearing."
