Dewayne Drew passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, October 6, 2025 with his best friend and loving wife of 43 years, Renee (Kiselewski) by his side holding his hand.
Stage 4 Glioblastoma took his wonderful life after only 158 days of being blindsided with this devastating diagnosis. God spared him from being in pain. We will always be thankful for that.
Dewayne loved being outdoors fishing, hunting, working in the yard and garden. He could fix anything. He loved farm life. He loved driving the grain truck to the elevator or to unload in the grain bins. He loved anything he was doing with the ones he loved. He even loved square baling hay with Blake.
His greatest love was for his wife, nephew Blake whom he thought of as a son and Blake's significant other Hannah Bock.
He said never take a day for granted as it may be the last day you have. Live your life with no regrets.
He is missed beyond words, loved beyond words. He is grateful for his family and friends who were there for him.
Remember him always with love. I wish I could have just one more day with him. I know you will always be watching over me. We will be together again. I will never forget you.
A Graveside Service will be held Thursday, October 9, 2025 at 10:00 am at Knob Prairie Cemetery in Waltonville, Illinois with Pastor Jason Newell officiating. Memorials may be made in Dewayne's honor to the Jefferson County Animal Shelter.
