Oris Petri Jr. Obituary
Oris "Pete, Sonny, Roo" Petri Jr., of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the age of 86. Beloved husband of Lu Ann Petri and his first wife, the late Susan Petri; cherished son of the late Oris Earl Petri, Sr. and Mildred Petri; devoted father of Dana (Matt) Stegman, Becky (Ken) Nowack, and step-children Charles (Megan) Patton and James (Morgan) Patton; loving grandfather of Amanda (Ben) Merriman, Michael (Sarah) Nowack, and step grandchildren Charles Patton, Jr and baby boy on the way; treasured great-grandfather of Patrick and Lucas Merriman; dear brother to Karen (The late John) Masters.
Oris proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Navy, which he retired from, enjoying his time in the military reserves. He loved sailing, traveling, riding motorcycles, and spending time at the Lake of the Ozarks. With a gift of gab and a heart for people, he never met a stranger. A devoted member of Harvester Christian Church and First Baptist Church of St. Charles, he sang in the choir and lived his faith. Oris had a sweet tooth, a green thumb, and a love for sunshine, gardening, and growing fruits and vegetables. He was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Oris' name to USO and Ronald McDonald House.
