Orville Skinner Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ripley Funeral and Cremation Services - Ripley on Feb. 18, 2026.
Pat Skinner, 65, passed away suddenly on Monday, February 16, 2026, at his home in Walnut, Mississippi.

Funeral services honoring Pat's well-lived life will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, February 21, 2026, in the Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home, with visitation from 9:30 AM until the time of service. Burial will follow in County Line Cemetery in Chalybeate, Mississippi.

The son of Tramel and Flossie Skinner, Pat was born in Ripley, Mississippi. He grew up in Walnut, Mississippi on his parents' farm and graduated from Walnut High School. Following graduation, he continued and completed his education at Mississippi State University. He worked various jobs in Northeast, Mississippi before moving to Memphis to work in the hickory wood industry, turning tool handles for more than thirty years. In 1993, he married Lindy Ward Skinner. They resided in Bartlett, Tennessee, for thirty years and then moved to be near Pat's family in Walnut, Mississippi in 2024. Pat's love for his family and the country life drew him back to Mississippi. Pat loved meeting people and making friends. He was an avid deer hunter, gardener, all around outdoorsman and a runner. Most importantly, he loved the Lord Jesus and his church. Pat would be found worshipping and serving with Lindy at Bartlett Baptist Church in Bartlett, Tennessee, and more recently at Harmony Baptist Church in Walnut, Mississippi.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Lindy Skinner, his brothers, Norris and Travis Skinner (Peggy), his sisters, Judy Casey, Deneen Skinner and Renea Wall, a host of nieces and nephews, three great-great nieces and one great-great nephew and more friends than you can count.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Tramel and Flossie Skinner, and two sisters, Connie Skinner and Gwen Dillingham.

In lieu of flowers due to allergies, the family request donations be made to St Jude Children's Hospital, The American Heart Association, or any charity of your choice.
