MR. OSCAR DARNELL MOORE, age 75, of 128 Pine Lane, Thomson, GA passed on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at his residence. Family members and friends may call at the funeral home. THOMSON FUNERAL SYSTEM, Thomson, GA oversees all arrangements.
MR. OSCAR DARNELL MOORE was born on Friday, March 24th, 1950, to both the late Oscar Moore and Evelyn Gilpin Moore in Atlanta (Fulton County), Georgia. Our dearly beloved Oscar passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at his residence in Thomson, Georgia.
He received his education by attending the public school system of McDuffie County, Georgia. During his days of employment, Oscar who was most often called by his middle name "Darnell" worked various jobs. Before retiring, he worked many years for Shaw Industries, Inc. in Thomson, Georgia.
He will be missed deeply and loved always! In addition to his parents, Oscar is predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Harvey and Annie Moore; his maternal grandparents, William, Sr. and Julia Gilpin; one uncle, William Gilpin, Jr.
He leaves precious memories to those who have survived him: a loving son and daughter-in-law, Oscar and Teshia Blount of Thomson, Georgia; threer grandchildren, Olivia Blount, Jaquavious Blount and Chance Blount; four great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren, Keyshawn Shank and Mercedes Beall; one step-great-grandchild; a special friend, Patsy Stephens of Thomson, Georgia; one sister, Phyllis McKenzie; one step-sister, Saudi (Jackie) Bahati; a step-mother, Julia Moore of Atlanta, Georgia; one aunt, Lizzie Gilpin Paschal of Atlanta, Georgia; one uncle, Larry (Gertrude) Gilpin of Atlanta, Georgia; three cousins, Carmen Paschal Dean of Jonesboro, Georgia, Evelyn Paschal Wilcher of Decatur, Georgia and Gerald Gilpin of Lovejoy, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
