Oscar Moore

Oscar Leon Moore, 72, of Prosperity, passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026.

He was born on November 24, 1953 to the late Arthur and Florence Miller Moore. Oscar was an Army veteran, having been stationed in Korea, then later at Fort Jackson. He was employed with SCE&G where he established a career that would last 33 years, finally retiring from Dominion Energy in 2018. Oscar was an outdoors-man and loved to hunt, fish, and shrimp, as well as tend to his garden. He also enjoyed spending time at his second home in Beaufort, and particularly liked heading to Hunting Island Beach. Oscar had a heart for people, and would help his church and community in any way he could. He was a member of Park Road Baptist Church, and a member of VFW Post 6740 of Leesville, SC. He was also a loving Papa to his grandchildren whom he treasured.

Oscar is survived by his son, Jason Robert (Tina) Moore of Prosperity, daughter, Frances Elizabeth Moore of Prosperity, ex-wife, Diane Moore, grandchildren: Bradley Moore, Dianna Moore, Savannah Moore, Paige Rembisz and Cheyenne Rembisz; three sisters and a brother.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026 at 3:00 pm at Park Road Baptist Church of Prosperity by the Reverend Bart Plaxco. The family will be receiving friends immediately following the service.
