Osmond Juerakhan

Durango resident Osmond Juerakhan died from complications of a massive heart attack at Mercy Regional Medical Center on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009. He was 54. Mr. Juerakhan was born Dec. 31, 1954, in Gouyave, Grenada, West Indies. He moved to the U.S. in 1977. He worked for Standard & Poor's in Denver as a financial analyst. He held several other accounting positions with various companies. His most recent employment was with the Tierra Group in Durango. Mr. Juerakhan is survived by his mom and several siblings in Florida, New York, Maryland, Grenada and Canada. He will be missed by his cherished ex-wife Lisa of Denver, his dear friend Suzanne of Lake Tahoe, and all his friends and co-workers at the Tierra Group, especially Gary Whalen. He will also be missed by Wendy and the members of the Salsa Dance Group. Visitation will be held at Hood Mortuary Chapel Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., followed by a Memorial Service at 2 p.m. Chaplain Earl Caudill of Hospice of Mercy will be officiating. Cremation will occur at Hood Mortuary Crematory in Durango.
