Otha "Darrell" Mills

Otha Darrell Mills, age 83, of Hamburg, Arkansas, passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2025. He was born in Hamburg, Arkansas, on April 21, 1942, to Otha Lee and Beatrice McClain Mills.

Darrell was a member of Cloverdale Assembly of God Church and retired from Georgia-Pacific Paper Mill after forty-four years of dedicated service, where he worked as a lab technician and served as Chief Shop Steward. Known for his remarkable breadth of knowledge, Darrell had a deep passion for reading and learning, and he could hold a conversation on just about any subject. He had a generous heart, smile and laugh. These are the characteristics that all will remember him by. He also enjoyed watching horse races and boxing, a pastime that brought him much joy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, R.M. Mills, Jerry Mills, and Charles Mills.

Darrell's memory will be forever cherished by his son, Brian Mills (Jackye) of Crossett, AR; his daughter, Teresa Mills of Marietta, GA; One honorary daughter, Joy Rhodes; two grandchildren, Julie Parker (David) and Justin Mills (Alex), all of Crossett, AR; and four great-grandchildren, Emma, Reece, Bree, and Rex; One sister, Carolyn Kelley (Bill) of Hamburg, AR; One brother, Burl Mills and one sister in law, Charlotte Mills. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who will remember him with love and gratitude.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at Jones Funeral Home of Crossett with Bro. Brandon Kelley officiating.

Interment is in Egypt Cemetery in Hamburg, AR. Pallbearers are Patrick Kelley, Burl Mills, Stephen Dumas, Justin Mills, Pace Mills and Trace Mills. Honorary Pallbearers are Brandon Kelley, Julie Parker, Chase Mills and John Dumas.

Visitation will begin one hour prior at 12:00 PM.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the caregivers at Audrey's Special Home for the compassionate and attentive care they provided to Darrell for the past seven years: McKayla, Trish, Brandi, James, Ashley, Beverly, and Amy. Our family loves and appreciates each one of you.
