Otis Nelson Ellis, formerly of Floydada and Ralls, TX passed away on October 11, 2025 in Matador, TX.

On August 8, 2024 he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Dana Roberts Ellis. They married on February 20, 1965 and had two daughters, Kim and Jo Lee.

Otis was born September 18, 1942 in Paducah, Texas to Thomas Burnett and Dovie Lois Sandlin Ellis. He is also preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Elizabeth Piper, Rosa Lee Rainwater, Aggie Birdwell, Brenda Ellis and Christy Ellis. Surviving siblings are Anna Mason, Tommie Dell Butler, Truman Ellis, Mary Lou Hawkins and Garvis Ellis.

Otis spent his life as a servant to the Lord and was a Deacon of the Baptist Church. After serving our country as an SP4 Radio Teletype Operator and a decorated Sharpshooter in the United States Army, he labored and toiled as a paint and body man for all the local towns, farmers, ranchers and truckers. Everyone knew that all roads led to Otie's Paint & Body Shop. In the early 2000's he was honored as Man of the Year by the Ralls Chamber of Commerce.

Mama and Daddy loved each other so much. It was an honor to witness such complete devotion, commitment and friendship. They shared the love of Jesus Christ and now are in Heaven together--And their children miss them both so much: Kimberly Ellis Peralez; Jo Lee Ellis Rau & Tim Rau. Grandchildren Piper, Eli, Jacob and Leah.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 8th at 11:00 a.m. at the Ralls Cemetery Chapel followed by a memorial fellowship and potluck lunch at noon at the Ralls, TX Senior Citizens Center.
