Ouida L Mayfield

Mayfield, Ouida L, of Columbiana, Alabama, passed away on May 23, 2025. Born in 1936 in Shuqualak, Mississippi, Ouida attended Montevallo High School and is a graduate of the University of Montevallo. Working for over 38 years in education, she completed her professional career as the principal of Columbiana Middle School and served five terms as a City of Columbiana councilwoman.
A member of the Columbiana United Methodist Church, Ouida was an avid sports fan, following closely her beloved Auburn Tigers and Atlanta Braves. Her favorite pastimes included volunteering in the community, entertaining, and shopping.
She is preceded in death by her husband Don Mayfield, parents Y.C. and Geneva Byrd, her brother Aubry Bryd and son Ed Mayfield. Ouida is survived by her sister Carol Griffis, children Ramsey Bentley (Staci), Cindy Walthall (John) and Jennifer Faircloth (Sam) and grandchildren Caleb Bentley and Rebecca Walthall.
A visitation will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Bolton Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM. She will be laid to rest in Pinelawn Gardens.
