Ouida Hidalgo Pennison peacefully passed away at Heritage Manor on the 20th of January 2024 in Mandeville, Louisiana at the age of 90.
Ouida Pennison is survived by her children, Mark Pennison Sr. (Debbie), Keith Pennison (Susan) and Kristian Pennison Cleveland (Kevin); grandchildren, Kelleé Pennison Nastasi (Albert), Mark Pennison Jr. (Belinda), Kacey Pennison Bushnell (Blake), Nova Pennison (Gilberto), Sarah
Pennison Hudson (Tyler), Claire Pennison, Dolby Vincent, Kortney Cleveland, Kaitlyn Cleveland, and Kyle Cleveland; and 16 great-grand children.
Ouida was born on the 6th of November 1933 in Thibodaux, Louisiana to the late Klebert and Alicia Rodrigue Hidalgo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Joseph Pennison; brothers, Guy Hidalgo, Roland Hidalgo, Arthur Hidalgo, and Frank Hidalgo; and sisters, Agnes Hidalgo Malheit and Mary Ann Hidalgo MacBurney.
A private, family mass will be held on Friday, the 26th of January 2024 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Thibodaux, Louisiana. Following the mass, the interment will be at St. John the Evangelist Cemetery.
Her family deeply appreciates all of her caregivers, the staff of Heritage Manor Mandeville and St. Catherine’s Hospice, in recent years for their compassion, support and kindness in taking care of Ouida.
