Mary Lou Johnson Pennison

Mary Lou Johnson Pennison entered into eternal rest on November 5, 2025. Beloved wife of the late Johnnie J. Pennison, Jr. Mother of Gary J. Pennison, Sr. (Lynne) and John L. Pennison (Sue). Grandmother of Gary J. Pennison, Jr., Charles M. Pennison (Amy), Katie Alombro (Matthew), Melanie Tullier (Nick), and the late Amanda Luneau. Great-grandmother of Deanna (Anthony), Analena, Trey, Abigail, Alex, Anna, Andrea, Pippa, and the late Julianna. Daughter of the late Joseph Johnson and Louise Lingoni Johnson. Lifelong friend and cousin of Audrey Johnson and Beulah Stockfleth. Age 94 years, a native of Empire, LA and resident of Belle Chasse, LA. Mary Lou graduated Valedictorian of her class at Buras High School and attended Spencer Draughon Business College New Orleans. She worked for Plaquemines Parish Clerk of Court, Delta Bank, U. S. Post Office, and then as a Librarian at the Plaquemines Parish Library. Mary Lou was a longtime faithful parishioner and member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church of Port Sulphur Altar Society. She loved to spend time with and cook for her family, especially for her grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening, trawling for shrimp, and traveling but not for too long. Special thanks to the staff of Riverbend Nursing Home and her roommate Mary Blink. In lieu of flowers, masses preferred.

Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy, Harvey, LA on Friday, November 14, 2025 at 11 AM. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Visitation will be held from 9 AM until 11 AM.
