Owen Brent Haire Jr., 76, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025, at Baptist Health Floyd, just one-week shy of his 77th birthday. A devoted husband, father, poppy, coach, and friend, Brent lived a life full of faith, passion, and unwavering love for his community.
Born on October 20, 1948, Brent was a proud lifelong resident of Jeffersonville Indiana. He was a man of deep faith and a faithful member of Southeast Christian Church, where he found joy in fellowship and strength in his walk with God.
Brent's love for life was as big as his heart. He had a lifelong passion for cars, which he joyfully shared with fellow enthusiasts as a proud member of the "Old Guys Car Club." He also held a deep allegiance to Indiana University basketball and football, rarely missing a game and cheering on the Hoosiers with unmatched pride. Equally dear to him were the Jeffersonville High School Red Devils, where his spirit and support never went unnoticed.
For over 20 years, Brent coached Little League baseball and football, mentoring countless young players who adored and admired him. He taught more than the game-he taught integrity, teamwork, and the importance of showing up with heart. Many still speak of Coach Haire as a guiding influence in their lives.
Music was a constant joy in Brent's life, especially the classic hit "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown," which always brought a smile to his face and a tap to his foot. He also served as the past President of Bloemers Food Service, where he led with dedication, kindness, and an unwavering work ethic.
Above all else, Brent loved his family deeply. He was the beloved husband of Beverly Haire, his wife of 58 years, who stood beside him through every season of life. He was the proud father of three children: Travis Haire (Jan), Scot Haire (Leica), and Elizabeth Haire. He was a loving grandfather to Victoria (Zane), Lily, Anna, Trent (Taylor), and Luke (Daisy), all of whom brought immeasurable joy to his life. He also leaves behind his cherished sister, Dot Haire.
Brent was preceded in death by his parents, Owen and Dorothy Haire, and his brothers, Art and Ed Haire. Though he will be missed beyond words, the legacy he leaves behind is one of compassion, humor, generosity, and deep-rooted love.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway,

Brent Haire Jr. lived a full and faithful life-and though he has taken his final lap, his engine of love and kindness will echo through the lives he touched, for generations to come. On Red Devils!
