Owen Pierce Obituary
Owen Douglas Pierce, 69, passed away Saturday, February, 17, 2024. Survived by his daughter, Eleanor (Enrique) Zabala of Kansas City, MO; his sister, Susan Pierce of Wichita, KS; brother, Craig (Peggy) Pierce of Mountain Home, AR; 4 nieces and nephews. Doug graduated from East High School in Wichita, KS and from Kansas University with a degree in Journalism. He was an avid reader, a lover of history, and always on the search to acquire new knowledge about the world and the people in it. In the last several years he received lots of love from his nieces and their children at family events; referred to as, "Uncle Dougie." His daughter, Eleanor (Ellie), is now missing a friend with whom she shared so many interests. Ellie will be scattering his ashes through his beloved plains of Kansas and its quiet small towns.
