Owen spent over 20 years as a Credit Manager at the Godman Shoe Company, where he was known for his integrity and professionalism. His volunteerism extended beyond sports. Owen worked events featuring world-renowned performers such as The Rolling Stones, The Bolshoi Ballet, The Three Tenors, Barbra Streisand, and Garth Brooks. He also worked major tournaments including the NCAA Frozen Four, OHSAA wrestling and basketball championships. His presence was a constant at the Ohio State University Golf Club, where he combined his love of service with his passion for golf.
A lifelong golf enthusiast, Owen played courses across Ohio and beyond. He especially cherished his time in the Miami, Florida area, where he played and worked at prestigious venues such as the Key Biscayne Golf Course, Trump Doral Golf Course, and the historic Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables.
