Preston Cornelius Kellam, Jr. better known as PC, 81, passed away Thursday, September 4, 2025. He was a resident of Silver Beach, VA and Commonwealth Senior Living of the Eastern Shore in Onancock, VA. He was born September 28, 1943, in Nassawadox, VA. He lived in Onancock and Exmore before moving to Silver Beach in 1970.

PC graduated from Randolph Macon Academy in Front Royal, VA in 1962. He then joined the army and was stationed in Germany. While there he met his wife, Carol “Mickey” McPherson. Upon returning to Virginia, he began his farming career with PC Kellam and Sons in Church Neck and Exmore, VA. He later was employed by Associated Farms, Shore Fertilizer, and Northampton County as an attendant at several convenience centers, lastly being Wardtown, VA.

During his lifetime, he served on the Northampton County Board of Supervisors for 16 years and the Northampton County School Board and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Jamesville, VA.

PC is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mickey Kellam; his daughters, Julie K. Gilliam (Jeff) and Susan C. Kellam (John); his sister, Vicki Baxter; grandchildren, Sydney Kellam Elliott (Hunter), Riley and Jake Gilliam; great grandchildren, Kairo and Avalei Elliott; sister- in- law, Debbie Dutcher (Vic), brother- in- law, Jim McPherson (Bonnie); and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Pres and Madge Kellam; brother and sister-in-law Ronnie and Anne Kellam; daughter, Peggy Kellam; and brothers-in- law, Gary Baxter and David McPherson.

PC loved the Eastern Shore of Virginia, especially Silver Beach. He enjoyed riding the back roads, looking at the fields. He liked meeting up with friends for morning chats at the County Line and Hardees. He never met a stranger, no matter where he was. He gave the best hugs and smiles. Most of all, PC loved his friends and family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A graveside service with Military Honors will be held Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 1:00 pm at the Belle Haven cemetery with Reverend Tammy Estep officiating. A reception will follow at the Seafood Room at the Moose Lodge in Belle Haven, VA. Memorial Donations may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church, PO Box 224, Jamesville, VA 23398, Riverside Shore Hospice, P.O. Box 615, Onley, VA 23418, or to an organization of your choice.

The family would like to thank Commonwealth Senior Living at the Eastern Shore for their care and dedication to PC during his time there, where he made many great friends. We would also like to thank Riverside Hospice of the Eastern Shore for their assistance with getting PC back to the Shore from Riverside Newport News and their extraordinary care during his final days. We would like to thank all of the nurses and doctors who provided excellent care during his time at both hospitals.
