Pamela Sue Baker, age 61, of Marion, IL, passed away peacefully at 9:20 p.m. on Monday, February 26, 2024, at her home with her family at her side.
She was born on May 6, 1962, in Marion Memorial Hospital in Marion, IL, a daughter of Jack Lavern and Ruth (Thurston) Baker.
Pam was a graduate of Marion High School and worked in housekeeping for healthcare facilities for over thirty-five years.
She was of the Christian faith and her faith was displayed in the way she so faithfully cared for others. She was a loving, selfless and caring person who loved people. During their illnesses, Pam was a caregiver for her father and her sister. She was often private and sometimes quiet, but her love for her family and friends was always evident. Pam especially loved her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. The many memories created with her loved ones will be cherished for years to come.
She is survived by her significant other, Rick Hester of Marion, IL; her son, Derek (Amanda) Baker of Marion, IL; two grandchildren, Brianna and Jack; niece, Chasity (Toby) Corn of Paducah, KY; nephew, Jonathan Heyde of Marion, IL; great-nieces and a great-nephew; two dear friends, Susan Blake and Debbie Hester; and many other extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant brother; and her sister, Regina Heyde.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, 900 North Court Street, Marion, IL.
In accordance with Pam's wishes, no public services will be held at this time.
