Pamela Diane Bauer

Pamela "Pam" Diane Bauer was born on April 5th, 1948, to her beloved Mother Marjorie and Father Daniel Bauer in Akron, OH. She passed away at Pinnacle in Tallmadge, OH on Sunday, September 7, 2025. She completed her Elementary through High School years at the Copley City School District. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Art History and a Master’s degree in Social Science from The University of Akron.

Because of her parents work schedules, she spent her weekends with her beloved mother Marjorie, and her school week with her beloved grandfather Frank Bowen on her grandparents’ farm in Copley. Her favorite thing about the farm was her beloved dogs. She had many over the course of her life. Each left a special paw print on her heart: Candy, Maggie, Herman D. Weiner Dog, Trouble, Archie, Ashley and her beloved basset hound Dudley, or as he preferred to be called, his Royal Dudliness, with whom she shared the strongest bond of all her dogs.

She loved flowers, and at age 13, started working at the flower shop owned by her beloved aunt Grace. She worked as a reading teacher in Atlanta, Georgia, where she taught 3rd- 5th grade reading. She later taught the 5th grade in Norfolk, Virginia. She later worked as an art teacher at Zion Lutheran Church in Akron, OH. She also worked as a train crew member and storyteller on the Cuyahoga Valley National Railroad. She always said her favorite part of the job was picking two different children at opposite ends of the train and running back and forth with a microphone between them so they could sing their chosen verses. She met her close friend Gord, when she worked as a customer service representative at Schulman. He taught her what became her famous catchphrase “finer than the hair on a frog- which is mighty fine”.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Anna and Frank Bowen, her parents Marjorie and Daniel Bauer and special friend Alma Collmar. Pam enjoyed cooking with Alma. Before she passed, Alma gave Pam her deviled egg recipe for which Pam was well known. Alma also made the BEST pot roast.

She is survived by her children Tony Ciraldo (Kristen), Erin Ciraldo, John Ciraldo (Amanda and their children Kieran and Conner), and her youngest son David Bauer with whom she shared a very special and unique bond, daughter-like friend, Miranda Klinker (Kyle Taylor). Kyle was David's best friend and brought the three of them together.

Special thanks to her best friend Dee Emmert for officiating the funeral and most importantly for managing her finances and being a shining example of what a true best friend should be.

Never forget God loves you and so did she.

In lieu of flowers please send donations to Island Safe Harbor Rescue where she received her last dog, Ashley. Following cremation, a Celebration of Life will take place at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305 on Sunday, September 28, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Dee Emmert officiating.
