Pamela J. Garstka, 78, of Orlando, FL, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.
Pamela was born on June 7, 1946, in Hadley, MA to William and Josephine (Jandzinski) Chmura. She grew up in Hadley and graduated from Hopkins Academy. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend who touched the lives of everyone she met. She was also known for her kindness, strength, sense of humor, and love of her cats.
She is survived by her children, Thomas Garstka of Orlando and James Garstka and his wife Noelle, and her three grandchildren: Amelia, James W., and Caroline of Tampa, FL. She is also survived by her sister, Eileen Malan of Pinehurst, NC. Pamela was preceded in death by her brothers John “Rich” and Carl Chmura, and her parents William and Josephine Chmura.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025, at 6:00 PM at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, East Orlando Chapel. The family will receive friends starting at 5:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association in Pamela’s memory.
