Pamela Kegaly Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hallowell & James Funeral Home - Countryside on Dec. 9, 2025.
Pamela Kegaly (née Pilarski), age 66, of Clarendon Hills; at rest on December 6, 2025. Loving mother of Kevin (Siobhan) Lynch and John Kegaly III; devoted grandmother of Clare & Ethan Lynch; beloved daughter of the late Edmund and the late Vivian Pilarski; dear sister of Paulette (Canuto) Pilarski-Puga, Colette (James) Ruich, Vivien (Larry) O'Connor, & the late Edward and late Paul Pilarski; treasured aunt to Melissa (Joseph) Michalski, Robert (Jessica) Zimmermann, Michelle Zimmermann, Jessica Zimmermann, and great-aunt to Edward Michalski, Jase Zimmermann, Allison Morgan, & Emily Zimmermann.
Pam answered the call to become a nurse and was proud and passionate in her career. She specialized in memory care and geriatrics and cared for every patient as if they were her own family. During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Pam used her skills as a hairdresser to ensure her patients were still able to look and feel their best, and she was recognized by her company for her love and dedication to her patients during this difficult time in the world. Her kindness and love shined wherever she went. Her smile and laugh would light up any room.
Above all else, Pam loved God and her family. Her grandchildren, Clare and Ethan, were the absolute joys of her life. Her babies, her bubbas. She loved them beyond measure and spoiled them (as the best Grammy would). She was so proud of her amazing sons, Kevin and Johnny – her boys – and the fine men they have grown into. She fiercely loved her parents, sisters, brothers, cousins, aunt, uncles, and friends. Words fail to describe how blessed we all were to have known and loved Pamela and how much she will be missed.
Visitation 3 to 8pm on Friday, December 12 at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55 th St., Countryside. Funeral prayers 9:15am on Saturday, December 13 from the funeral home to St. Cletus Church, 600 W. 55 th St., LaGrange for 10am Mass.
Pam was born in Chicago, attended Blessed Agnes grammar school, Lourdes High School, and Lyons Township High School. Pam was a candy striper at Berwyn McNeal Hospital in her teens, dreaming of someday becoming a Nurse. After receiving her Nursing Pin, Pam worked at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, The Birches, and Ascension Bethlehem Woods. Her compassion for her patients was beyond measure. Pam was the shining light to all who knew her and to all whom she helped. Pam fought a long, brave fight with ovarian cancer.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Pam's name to the American Nurses Association – Nightingale Tribute (https://www.ana-illinois.org/) are appreciated.
