Pamela Faye “Pam” King, age 72, of Gulfport, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Harris; her mother, Ann Coker Keyes; and a brother, William Keith Harris.
Pam is survived by her husband of 50 years, Richard J. King; her daughters, Stacey Renee Neil and Tonya Richelle King Baudean; a brother, Michael Harris; her grandchildren, Jamie Faye Broussard, Jasmine Nicole King, Jared Neeley, and Jarvis King; a great-granddaughter, Sa’lea Bailey King; other relatives, friends, and many colleagues in the medial profession.
She was a longtime resident of Gulfport and was a graduate of Harrison Central High School. Pam continued her education at MS Gulf Coast Community College where she earned a degree in nursing. Folling her graduation from MGCCC, she graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Forensic Science.
Pam was a dedicated employee of Memorial Hospital at Gulfport for 30 years where she served as an ER nurse before becoming a Nursing Administrative Supervisor. She was always an advocate for her patients and extended that same care when she became a supervisor. Pam believed that proper “bedside” nursing was the foundation of medical care. She embodied that principal as a nurse and expected the same from those she supervised. Her love and compassion for those in need defined her as a person and a medical professional. Her legacy will continue through the many nurses she trained along the way – and even some doctors!
Pam loved traveling, her church family, and spending time with her grandchildren.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to Courtney and Latoya with Vital Caring Hospice, and April Sumrall, Patricia Jefferson, and Veronica with Togetherness Reliable Home Health Care for their love, support, and attention they showed to our family during this journey.
