A native of Greenville, South Carolina, daughter of the late John Clifton and Ovetta "Tot" Diggs Owens, she was an employee of Mountain Creek Cabinet Company and of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are her husband, Jerry Michael McElhannon of the home; two sons, "Joey" Michael McElhannon of Taylors and William "Billy" Lee McElhannon of Duncan; three brothers, John Owens (Stella) of North Augusta, South Carolina, William "Billy" Owens (Ranna) of Greer, and Allen Owens, of North Augusta, South Carolina; a sister, Vickie Wood of North Augusta, South Carolina; three grandsons, Jeremy, Justin, and Joshua; and two great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a brother, Mickey Owens and a sister, Mary Ann Baskins.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at The Wood Mortuary. Burial will follow in M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
Visitation will be held 5:00-6:00 p.m. Monday, October 7, 2024, at The Wood Mortuary.
The family is at their respective homes.
Memorials may be made to Greer Community Ministries, P.O. Box 1373, Greer, South Carolina 29652.
