Pamela Ryals Obituary

Pamela Betz Ryals, 76, of Rincon, Georgia, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2025, under the care of Hospice Savannah, surrounded by her family.

Born in Thunderbolt, Georgia, on March 3, 1949, to Lloyd and Francis Betz. She attended Nativity of Our Lord Church and School, and continued her education at St. Vincent's Academy and Jenkins High School.

Pam discovered her true calling in cosmetology, dedicating her life to her craft while raising her family. She was the proud owner and operator of The Rose of Sharon Beauty Salon until her retirement. She had a passion for sewing, quilting, sharing recipes, and catching up on gossip all of which was secondary to spoiling her grandchildren.

She often reminisced about childhood summers spent visiting family in New Orleans, church league softball games with Nativity, trips to Tybee with family, long summer days with friends swimming in the river at the Thunderbolt Men's Club, and later, family vacations to Daytona Beach with her children and grandchildren.

The true love of her life was her soulmate, Bobby. Their love was immeasurable. He found her to have the perfect combination of sparkle and spunk. His patience wasn't recognized until after his death. After his passing in 2007, Pam never mended her broken heart, she missed him every day and never could fill that void.

Pam is survived by her two sons Robert "Rob" L. Ryals Jr; (Ryen); and Jason B. Ryals, sister Cynthia Betz Anderson (Robbie), grandchildren Megan Scheibling (Nick), Dowlin Ryals (Megan 2.0), Tanner Ryals, Brady Ryals, and Madeline McGee, nieces and nephews Shannon Ondriezek (Daniel), Jon Ryals (Jodie), Shawn Anderson (Sarah). She is preceded in death by her husband Robert "Bobby" L. Ryals Sr.

She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Millie, who brought her great comfort, and companionship. The family would like to thank Kellie Jernigan for adopting her and spoiling her as Pam would.

Pam faced her journey with cancer courageously and was blessed with the unwavering friendship of Joanne, Cathy, and Janice, who never left her side. A heartfelt thank you is extended to the nurses at Candler whose compassion and care for her did not go unnoticed and their kindness made a meaningful difference.

As always, Father O'Brien was there offering comfort, peace, and steadfast support to her and the family.

A celebration of life will be at a later date, In the meantime, we invite you to hold in your hearts, share stories, and cherish the moments you had together.
