Pamela Salmond Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Southern Utah Mortuary - Cedar City on Dec. 29, 2025.
On December 25, 2025, Pamela Lorine Salmond peacefully slipped the surly bonds of Earth at 4:00 PM, surrounded by the tender embrace of her husband and four children in her Cedar City home, at the age of 71.

Born on February 18, 1954, to Samuel Ray Goodwin and Lorine Swainston Goodwin, Pamela entered the world with a resilient spirit. She was born deaf but was raised to read lips and speak clearly so it wasn't hard for her to integrate into the hearing world.

Pamela's life was anchored by a profound love story that began when she met Bradley Salmond Sr., whom she married on August 22, 1974. Their union was later solemnized for time and all eternity in the Oakland California Temple on November 11, 1976. As a devoted military wife, she was a pillar of support throughout their various assignments across the country before the family eventually settled in Cedar City, Utah. There, she obtained an associate degree and embarked on a distinguished 30-year career as an office manager for the Forest Service for the Dixie National Forest.

She retired in 2019, and was a dedicated temple worker who understood the language of the Spirit more deeply than most understand the language of sound.

Her memory is cherished by her eternal companion, Bradley , and her four children who were the pride of her life: Rhonda (and Frank) Trenkler, BJ (and Stacey), Benjamin, and Peter Salmond. She is also survived by her stepson, Christopher McCombs, and four brothers Sam, Bob, Bret, and Mike Goodwin, as well as 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren who will carry her memory in their hearts forever.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am at the Greens Lake Ward Building (1120 West Greens Lake Drive, Cedar City, Utah). A funeral will follow at 12:00 noon also at the church. Interment will be in the Southern Utah National Cemetery in Cedar City, under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary. Online condolences can be sent at www.mortuary.org.
