Thomas Nielson

Tom was a simple man and so our last words about him will be as well.

Tom passed peacefully surrounded by his children on the evening of December 26th, 2025. He was born on July 21st, 1954 and raised in Cedar City, Utah with his brother and three sisters. He moved to Arizona to attend college, then returned to Cedar City to raise his family. Above all else, Tom loved his family and friends. His children were his proudest accomplishment.

Tom could be found at the archery range on any given weekend, shooting and visiting with good friends, enjoying a cold beer and the fresh mountain air. He was a hard worker, but a prankster too. At work, he was often seen driving a big truck with his arm out the window, a cigarette in hand during his years at the county road department. Tom was happiest being outdoors, laughing with friends and family, building and shooting guns, and reading crime novels at home.

Tom now watches over his four children, twelve grandchildren and three sisters. He is reunited with his mother, father, brother and countless friends. He was hardworking, genuine and always had a joke. As Tom would say, "Enough of that happy horse sh*t."
