Pamela J. Wagner, 58, of Locke, passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse on September 29, 2025.
She was born May 15, 1967 in Westwood, NJ, a daughter of Dorothy (Coffin) Wagner, of Locke, and the late Martin Wagner, Sr. An area resident most of her life, she was a graduate of Moravia Central School and earned an Associate's Degree from Tompkins-Cortland Community College, with a concentration in Drug and Chemical Dependencies.
Pam enjoyed a lengthy career in public safety, working for many years at the NYS Department of Corrections and Juvenile Justice Facility in Lansing. More recently, she had been a caregiver at New York State OPWDD where she retired from to spend more time with her family.
Pam also enjoyed bingo with her sisters and mother and rides around the state lands with her grandchildren. Pam was very caring and would help anyone in need. She also made sure to spoil her grandchildren and get them many gifts to give them the best Christmas they could ever wish for. Pam also enjoyed crocheting and made a blanket for each of her grandchildren that they still use to this day.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her son, Joshua Ryerson (Emily), of Groton; grandchildren: Faye, Grace, and Logan Ryerson; sisters: Lorna Reynolds, of Auburn, Susan Nages (Michael), of Groton, and Karen Smith, of Locke; and brother-in-law, Tom Erickson, of Herkimer.
In addition to her father, Pam was predeceased by a sister, June Erickson; brother, Martin Wagner, Jr.; and brother-in-law, William Smith.
Friends may call from 11:00 AM - 12:00 Noon on Friday, October 10 at the Shurtleff Funeral Home, 103 Lincoln Avenue, Groton, with services at the funeral home to begin at 12:00 Noon. Interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Homer.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Pam's memory may be made to Wild Wings bird sanctuary. Wild Wings is a bird sanctuary focused on rehabilitation of birds of prey such as owls, Pam's favorite animal. Wild Wings is funded strictly on donations and volunteer work, so every donation goes straight to the animal's food and care. Wild Wings is located at 27 Pond Rd, Honeoye Falls, NY 14472.
