Pamela Jean Capps Whitley entered the New Year in the best way possible, in the arms of her Lord and Savior. Pam was known for reaching out to others and always providing kind, encouraging words. She was a second mom to many in the community and was often referred to as "Big Mama". Her favorite things in life were her children, spoiling her grandchildren, and, of course, the Razorbacks.
She was a woman of devout faith and cherished her church, NLR First Assembly, as well as the members that she considered family. She was a registered nurse and spent over 20 years at UAMS in the Myeloma Clinic. She was also a liscensed minister and loved ministering to people by officiating many weddings and funerals.
She is survived by her mother Juanita "Pat" Drake-Ervin (Douglas Ervin) of Sherwood, Arkansas; son, Keith D. Whitley (Katie) of Cabot, Arkansas; daughter, Kathryn Grace Thomas of Sherwood, Arkansas; sister, Ronda Drake of Gravel Ridge, Arkansas; grandchildren, Rhett, Bentli, and Knox Whitley and Kain Thomas; along with a host of aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at First Assembly of God in NLR on Saturday January 7, 2023 at 11:00 AM.
