A devoted mother, Fern also enjoyed her careers as a tax reviewer and real estate agent. Her favorite claim to fame was her days playing basketball at Rogers High, where she dominated the game.
Fern was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, her parents, her son, Patrick, her sister, Cleo Melendez, and her brother, John Robert Gray.
Fern is survived by her daughter, Pam Mason and husband Alex, of Fort Worth, TX, and two sons, Eldon Stanford of Hutto, TX, and Cheryl (former daughter-in-law) and son Eric Stanford of Blum, TX, four grandchildren, Athena and Bianca Mason, John "JR" Stanford and wife Kayla, and Robert "Bobby" Stanford and wife Samantha as well as five great-grandchildren. Fern is also survived by two sisters, Leila Westfall of Seguin, TX, and Lynda Moore and husband, Wayne of Portales, NM, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Our family expresses our appreciation for Mom's compassionate care to all the staff of both Park Place Care Center and Magnolia Hospice, Alicia.
A private celebration of life will be held on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at 2 p.m. in Seguin, TX, at her niece, Caryn Pond's home.
