Pari Benjamin, a beloved mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, in Savannah, Georgia, just shy of her 87th birthday. Born on December 24, 1937, in Tehran, Iran, Pari led a life full of love, grace, and dedication, touching the hearts of everyone she met.
After moving to the United States, Pari established her home in Westchester County, New York and later in Savannah, Georgia. Her career as a sales associate at Bloomingdale's Department Store was marked by her warm, welcoming personality and her exceptional service, until her retirement.
Pari was not only known for her professional accomplishments but also for her vibrant personal life. She had a passion for cooking, delighting family and friends with Persian dishes that celebrated her heritage. Pari also had a lifelong love of sports, with a special affinity for the New York Yankees, bringing excitement and camaraderie into her family gatherings.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ahmaed Elahi, her mother, Muluk Hogjat Elahi and her beloved husband of 23 years, Ashour Benjamin. Pari leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory. She is survived by her sons, Edmund Benjamin and Edwin "Ed" Benjamin; her sisters, Sherry Nelson, Mahvash Popal, and Shirin Elahi; along with numerous other family members and friends who admired her spirit and kindness.
A visitation will be held at the Baker McCullough Funeral Home Garden City Chapel, on Monday, December 16, 2024, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. This will be followed by a Celebration of Life service at 3:00 pm to honor and remember Pari's warmth, wisdom, and the joyful life she lived.
