Parnelle Richardson Jones was born January 23, 1962. She was the daughter of the late Junnell Hammond English and George Benning. Surrounded by her husband, children, and friends, her heavenly Father called her home from labor to reward, on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at her residence in Columbia, South Carolina.
Parnelle was educated in Richland County School District One Public Schools, graduating from C. A. Johnson High School in the class of 1980. She continued her education at Midlands Technical Collage where she received an associate degree in the Medical Field and was motivated to start her own LLC, "PJ ProMed Services". She was later employed as a correction office with the SC Department of Corrections, while also volunteering in Richland School District One and Five's classrooms and cafeterias. Her passion for working with children and families led her to start her non-profit organization called "Families Against Poverty." As she continued to work towards her goals and dreams, she began a career with Bowhead Transportation as a military truck driver and transporter.
Parnelle was the epitome of a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, and friend. She loved and defended the people she loved with the most genuine heart. She was always there for her family and friends and was known for her angelic and mesmerizing voice and infectious smile. God truly blessed Parnelle with ministry, and great discernment that she shared with everyone she met throughout her life.
In September of 1988, she met the love of her life Kenneth Jones while working in construction. Six months later, on March 13, 1989, they were united in Holy Matrimony. Their union was blessed with thirty-five years of love and devotion and with eleven (11) children and seventeen (17) grandchildren that they shared together.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Quentin P. Richardson; brothers, James W. Richardson, and Alphonso Rhinehart; sisters, Georgetta Richardson, and Mariann Wilson.
Parnelle's love and legacy will forever live in the hearts of her loving husband, Kenneth Jones; seven daughters, Candis L. Brown, Christianetta A. Jones, Kenee C. Jones, Angela N. Jones, Charity P. Jones, Lakeisha (Tyreek C. ) English, and Veronica Kiesha (Kelan) Stewart; three (3) sons, David A. Richardson, Kenneth J.E. Jones, Jr. and Michael Harris; brother, George A. (Rosalyn) Richardson and Isaiah English; sisters-in-law, Stephanie M. Sibert and Barbra Wilson; a host of nephews, nieces and other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom will dearly miss her.
