Pasquale L. Capozzoli, Jr.
"Pat"
On November 20, 2024 of Glassboro. Age 78. Beloved husband of 59 years to Eileen (nee Westfield). Devoted father of Kim Kelly (John) and the late Joseph Capozzoli. Loving grandfather of Gabrielle (Anthony), Justin, Nicholas, John, and Ryan. Proud great-grandfather of Leonardo and Max. Best pop to pups Otto and Tyson. Dear brother of Frederick Selvaggi, the late Henry Selvaggi, and the late Estelle Cianfrani. Survived by his daughter in law Margaret Paternostro.
Born and raised in South Philadelphia, Pat learned at an early age the meaning of hard work and self-reliance. Whether it be shining shoes or working at the Italian Market at the young age of 10, he developed the work ethic that would guide him throughout his life. At the age of 20, he married his forever love, Eileen, who he affectionately called his "bride" and "honey bunny." This love would remain strong for almost 60 years of marriage. He devotedly loved and was greatly loved by his mother-in-law, "Mamacita", and father-in-law, "Pop", who filled the void as loving parents that had been absent in his life. Pat was a protective, loving, supportive and generous dad to Joseph and Kim, who he referred to as Daddy's Little Girl, and had a close relationship with his son-in-law, John, who was a son to him. He was blessed with five grandchildren (Gabrielle, Justin, Nicholas, Johnny and Ryan), two great-grandchildren (Leonardo and Max), grandpup Tyson and great-grandpup Otto, whom he loved dearly.
Pat was a meat cutter by trade and a union representative, in addition to being the neighborhood handyman. He would always be there to lend a helping hand to family, neighbors and friends, and no task was too difficult for him to complete. His natural God-given talent without any formal education was immeasurable. Everything he accomplished was self-taught and completed to perfection. Whether it be rebuilding cars, home remodeling, car repairs or anything that required fixing, Pat would meticulously and passionately create masterpieces, especially his '56 Chevy.
Pat was a father-figure to many who learned a lot from him throughout the years and a loyal friend who always put others before his own needs and desires. A simple man, his favorite passions were classic cars, Harleys, western movies and listening to Doo Wop music in his garage and spending time with family and friends. He will be remembered not only as a man who overcame many adversities but as a warrior who never gave up, even when pain overtook his body. Pat's presence in this world was a gift and he will be greatly missed, especially by his family. He will remain within our hearts until the day we are reunited.
Family and friends are welcome to attend his viewing Saturday, November 30th 8:30 – 10:30 AM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Rd., Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM at SS. Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church, Washington Twp. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Park, Washington Twp.
