“You will keep him in perfect peace,
whose mind is stayed on You,
because he trusts in You.”
— Isaiah 26:3
Life’s Journey
Pastor Anthony Morgan Sr. was born to the late Deacon L.E. Morgan and Mother Gloria Mae Morgan. He entered eternal rest, surrounded by his loving family.
He was united in holy matrimony to his devoted wife, Dr. Alberta D. Morgan, with whom he shared over forty wonderful years of love, laughter, and faith. Their union was blessed with two sons, Pastor Charles T. Morgan (Pastor Stephanie) and Anthony Morgan Jr. (Melanie). His pride and joy were his four beloved grandchildren — Charles II, Christina, Benjamin, and Anthony III — with whom he shared countless adventures and memories, from family gatherings to their cherished annual trips to Disney.
A Life of Service
For 35 years, Pastor Morgan served faithfully as Supervisor of Bus Terminal Operations, earning respect for his fairness, integrity, and compassion toward others. Yet, his greatest labor was for the Lord.
A man of deep prayer and pastoral care, Pastor Morgan devoted his life to ministry — leading, teaching, and interceding for others with humility and grace. A gifted musician and servant-leader, he touched countless lives through his faith, encouragement, and worship. His commitment to God’s people never wavered; his ministry extended beyond the pulpit into every life he encountered.
A Man Who Enjoyed Life
Outside of ministry, Pastor Morgan enjoyed life’s simple joys — fishing, bowling, basketball, baseball, skating, gardening, and tending his beautiful rosebushes. Whether at home, at work, or in the sanctuary, he radiated love, peace, and a steady joy that drew others near.
Cherished Memories
He was preceded in death by his parents, Deacon L.E. and Mother Gloria Mae Morgan.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory: his loving wife, Dr Alberta D. Morgan; two devoted sons and their wives, Pastor Charles T. Morgan (Pastor Stephanie) and Anthony Morgan Jr. (Melanie); four beloved grandchildren, Charles II, Christina, Benjamin, and Anthony III;
five dear siblings, Rev. Dr. Albert L. Morgan, Deaconess Mae (Deacon Lionel) Woodley, Angie (Rick) Bradley, Dan Morgan, and Drusilla Morgan;
and a host of other relatives, church family, and friends who will forever hold him dear in their hearts.
His Legacy
Pastor Morgan has fought a good fight, finished his course, and kept the faith.
May his soul rest in perfect peace, and may his legacy of faith, love, and service live on through all who were blessed to know him.
