“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith”
2 Timothy 4:7
Michael Aiden Gunnoe of Mt. Hope, WV, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, January 28, 2025, at the age of 72. He was born July 4, 1952.
To know him was to love him. He was the best husband, father, papa, friend and pastor. He never failed to show his unconditional love, kindness and generosity. Although our hearts are broke , he assured his family that he was ready to meet his lord and savior.
Mike took most pride in being a pastor at Living Waters Baptist Church for 22 years. He was so proud of his church. He was blessed with an amazing church family that he loved dearly. He loved the lord and never missed an opportunity to witness to those he met.
Mike was preceded in death by his loving mother, Sue Francisco, his grandpa Aiden Gunnoe, his grandma, Mackey Gunnoe and mother-in-law, Gerda Vick.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 41 years, Kitty. His five children, Yvette Gunnoe, Michelle Pack and husband Ronnie, Cindy Haga and husband Bruce, Shannon Wriston and Reggie Wriston. His father, Bob Francisco, his sister Kathy Brewer and husband John, and nieces and nephews.
He was papa to his grandkids, Riley, Lainey, Rachael, Nevaeh and Addy that he loved dearly. They never had to question the love he had for them. He was their biggest supporter. Papa will always be their hero. Each of them got to tell him “see ya later papa we love you.” His last kiss on the forehead was from his great grandson, Caysen Michael. He knew then it was okay to let go.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Ganesh and his staff. Dr. Ganesh went above and beyond to take care of Mike. The family will forever be grateful for the care and compassion he had for our loved one.
We would also like to thank Bowers Hospice House for the care they provided to Mike and his family during the end of his journey.
There are too many special friends to thank. He was blessed with the best.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask for donations to be made in memory of Mike to Bowers Hospice House.
