Patricia Ann Henson entered into rest August 15th, 2025. She was born May 3rd, 1949 in Point Cedar, Arkansas to Horace and Novella Hammock.
Pat grew up in Point Cedar and graduated from Bismarck High School, where she played basketball and made lifelong friends. She worked a variety of jobs before becoming a nursing assistant at National Park Medical Center.
She lived a life filled with joy, family, and shenanigans. She loved to spend time gardening at home and Pirate’s Cove, hosting family gatherings and grandkid sleepovers, and watching her shows. Of the many roles she played, “Granny” was her favorite and how she was affectionately known by most over the last three decades.
Pat is preceded in death by her parents and brothers Grady, Eddie, Mike, and Jerry Hammock; and father in law Joe Merryman; Daughter in law, Ginger Henson. She is survived by her devoted partner of over 40 years, Steve Merryman; daughter, Lee Henson; son, Chris Henson; sister Jane (Joey) Vines; grandchildren Dillon (Heidi) Meredith, Katie (Mack) James, Kristen Henson, Kevin Henson, and Sydney Meredith; great granddaughter, Riley James, and mother in law Carolyn Merryman. She was set to officially gain two new grandchildren, Lester Menjivar and Jordan Spradley, but already considered them her own. She also leaves behind nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends she considered family.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 19, 2025 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Smith Family Funeral Home in Hot Springs.
Service will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at Smith Family Funeral Home in Hot Springs with Brother Jeff Hill officiating.
Burial will follow at Philippi Cemetery in Point Cedar.
