Deaconess Patrice Jeannette Carswell

Deaconess Patrice Carswell transitioned into her Savior's arms on Wednesday, October 29, 2025. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., at First Baptist Church of Progress Village, 8722 Progress Boulevard, Tampa, FL 33619, with Todd E. Hammond, Officiating.
Patrice Jannett Roberts Carswell was born on April 10, 1952, in Tampa, Florida, to Mrs. Alzada Singleton, adopted Mother-Aunt Lelia Mae Graham.
Patrice received her education in the public schools of Hillsborough County. She graduated with honors from Howard W. Blake High School, Class of 1970. She was a member of Upward Bound at the University of South Florida and attended Florida State University.
Patrice accepted Christ at a young age at Mount Tabor Missionary Baptist Church. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Progress Village until her transition to be with the Lord. Throughout her life, she dedicated herself to various ministries, including Deaconess, Culinary, Evangelism Explosion, Faith Bible Institute, and Women Intermediate Association. Patrice was a devoted and faithful woman of God.
On July 2, 1971, she joined in Holy Matrimony to Deacon Anthony Carswell, Sr. Patrice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend.
Patrice was preceded in death by: her mother, Alzada Singleton; adopted Mother-Aunt, Lelia Mae Graham; sister, Etrenda Ann Evans; and brother, Albert Porter.
She leaves behind cherished memories with: her loving and faithful husband of 54 years, Anthony Carswell Sr., son, Anthony Carswell Jr. (Tracy), grandsons, Caleb Anthony Carswell (devoted caregiver) and Rafael Giancarlo Mazariego-Carswell; granddaughter, Alexandria Carswell, all of Tampa, FL; sister, Gloria Barron of Fort Pierce, FL; special nephews and nieces, Keith Evans (Monique), James Evans, Tara Roberts, and Tonia Lemons (Sam); other nephews and nieces; sisters-in-laws, Beverly Footman and Diane Wrice; extended family, Dorothy Williams and Leah Lally; Godchildren, Resealia McKinney (Roderick), Dara and Kara Bradley; and a host of cherished friends, some of them are Darryl and Virginia Bradley, Norris and Carolyn Collins, and Reeche and Rosalyn Wise.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.
