Patrice Wetli

Patrice Martin Wetli, 70 of West Lafayette, IN passed away on June 27th 2025. She was born Patrice Roberta (named after her father) Martin on December 5, 1954, in Montclair New Jersey to Robert and Margaret Martin.
Patrice attended school in Verona, NJ and then the family moved to Michigan and eventually California where she graduated from Sunny Hills High School in Fullerton and would attend Cal State Fullerton. Growing up as a teenager in Southern California, Patrice chased around movie stars with her sisters. She eventually relocated to Indiana and briefly attended Purdue Calumet. She met and married her husband David in Indiana in 1981. She had 4 boys and was a devoted wife, mother and home maker for many years supporting David as he worked on the family farm in Fowler. They were married for 43 years despite some tragic events in the late 90s. The loss of the family farm, the loss of both of David's parents and illness that took the life of their youngest son Woody all happened in the same year. Being able to hold it all together through such tough times was a true testament to the strength, faith and love of the family they raised. They eventually settled in the West Lafayette community.
Patrice had an artistic flair and loved to draw and paint. She had a quick wit that all who loved her were charmed by. She was passionate about her beliefs and convictions. Patrice was tough and was never afraid to speak her mind and raised her boys as such. She was a blessing to all that knew her. Her devotion to her faith in the Lord was unmatched and it showed though her actions. Decades ago, one of the nephews in the Wetli family developed a terminal illness. Patrice heard this and made it a priority to visit the young man in the hospital and hold his hand until he passed.
Patrice is survived by her husband David, her sons Chad (spouse Darla), Russell (spouse Jennifer) and Nathaniel, 7 grandchildren ranging in age from 28 to 10, as well as her mother Margaret, her siblings Jo Ellen, Mary Jane, Susan and Guy. She is now at rest with her beloved father Robert and her youngest son who tragically proceeded her in death, Woodrow Oliver at the age of 11."
Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd.
