Patricia Ann Ayers, known fondly as Pat, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2025, in Saginaw, Michigan. Born in
Bay City, Michigan on August 24, 1950, to the late Felix and Irene (Szymczak) Sobieray, Pat's life was a tapestry of love, service, and adventure. She shared 53 joy-filled years with her beloved husband, Thomas Ayers, after they united in marriage on May 20, 1972, at St. Mary's Nine Mile Catholic Church.
Pat's legacy is cherished by her devoted husband, Tom, and their loving children, Erica Watkins and Steven (Jamie) Ayers. Her light continues to shine through her adored grandchildren, David, Zoe, and Nathan. Pat is also survived by her supportive siblings, Jim (Carla), Robert (Linda), Steve, Michael (Vicky), Charlie (Denise), Eugene Sobieray, Madeline Burtch, Vicky (Doug) Duvall, Lucy (Tom) Swiecicki, and Joe Sobieray and brother-in-law Robert Borowy. Her life was touched by many, and she will be fondly remembered by her extended family and a multitude of friends. She was predeceased by her son in law Thomas Watkins, a sister Alice Borowy, sister-in-law Cindy Sobieray and a Brother-in-law Chuck Burtch.
During her career, Pat served as a dedicated DHS case worker for the State of Michigan in Arenac County, where she extended her generosity and kindness, helping numerous families navigate through challenging times. Her commitment to her work was a testament to her compassionate spirit and her desire to make a difference in the world.
Pat was an active member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, where she found spiritual solace and community. Her faith had always been an integral part of her life, including her earlier involvement with St. Agnes Catholic Church and the rosary society, where she relished the camaraderie with fellow members.
An adventurous soul, Pat loved to travel, exploring the world with her husband and her cherished travel buddy, Annie. Her passion for discovery was matched by her creative spirit, which found joy in scrapbooking and wood carving. Pat also found pleasure in simple activities like going on walks, each step a moment to appreciate the beauty of the world around her.
Above all, Pat's heart belonged to her family. She poured her love into every moment spent with her grandchildren, nurturing their growth and celebrating their achievements. Her generous nature extended beyond her family, touching the lives of everyone she met.
Pat will be remembered as an embodiment of adventure, generosity, and kindness. Her radiant smile and warm presence made her a beacon of light in the lives of those who knew her. Her spirit, a blend of strength and gentleness, will continue to inspire and guide us.
Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 11 am from the Prince of Peace Parish St. Anne Campus, with Rev. Fr. Prentice Tipton presiding with inurnment at a later date in St. Agnes Cemetery. Friends may visit the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home on Monday, from 3 to 8 pm. On Tuesday, Pat will lie in state at the church from 10 am until time of mass.
