Patricia Baker, age 87, of Jefferson City, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 22, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Pat was born on February 12, 1938, in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, a daughter to the late Joseph and Cora (Schnee) West.
She was a graduate of Williamsport High School.
On August 24, 1961, Pat was united in marriage to Gerald M. “Jerry” Baker at the Community Christian Church in Kansas City, Mo. Jerry preceded her in death on April 2, 2012.
She worked for the editorial department of Grit newspaper in Williamsport and later BroDart, Inc. She moved to Kansas City to attend airline school and was employed by Trans World Airlines. In later years, she was a dental assistant for Dr. Charles Graves in Linn and then retired from the United Bank of Chamois after 24 years.
Pat was a member of First Baptist Church in Chamois and attended Cornerstone Baptist Church in Jefferson City. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and after retirement she volunteered in the kindergarten at Osage R-1 School. She was a former member of the Thomas Jefferson Library Board and past president of the Osage County Library Board. After moving to Jefferson City, she volunteered at the Jefferson City Daycare.
She loved reading, gardening, and cooking. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family.
Pat is survived by her son, Joseph (Bonnie) Baker of Kylertown, PA.; one daughter, Meredith Baker of Jefferson City; one granddaughter, Trina Hammond of Linn; one great-grandson, Landen Hammond of Linn; a sister, Sandra (Don) Kline of Jersey Shore, Pa., along with many nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband of fifty years, Pat was preceded in death by a sister, Sherry (Dave) Palmer and a brother-in-law, James Baker.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 26, 2025, at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Jefferson City with Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Brian Credille officiating. Interment will be held in Deer Creek Cemetery in Chamois
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Deer Creek Cemetery or Cornerstone Baptist Church in Jefferson City.
