Patricia A "Patty" Baltisberger

Mrs. Patricia "Patty" A. Baltisberger, 76, of Burlington, Iowa, died Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born in 1949 in Newark, New Jersey, she was the daughter of Phillip and Marguerite Bertrand. In 1971, Patty married James O. Baltisberger at St. John's Catholic Church in Burlington, Iowa.
Patty graduated from Burlington High School in 1967, and had worked for Winegard Company for ten years and then became a domestic home cleaner until her retirement. She enjoyed scrapbooking, taking care of her family and attending their sporting activities when they were growing up. Patty and Jim volunteered and ran the concession stands for both American Little League and Burlington High School sporting events for more than 15 years. Patty was a world-famous baker, and her recipe 'Mabel's Brownies' will go down in history as the greatest piece of chocolate to ever hit your lips. Her brownies and baked goods brought pure joy to family, friends, and coworkers for decades, served Marines in combat, and will be truly missed. She loved working in her flower gardens, and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Jim; three sons, Aaron (Gwen) Baltisberger of Burlington, Patrick (Amber) Baltisberger, of West Liberty, and Kevin (Sonya) Baltisberger of Woodbridge, Virginia; Six grandchildren, Alyssa (Jesse) Hanson, Katie (Shandler) Powelson, Gavin, Nolan, Emma, and Adam; two great grandchildren, Barrett and Tamen; sisters and brothers, Phillip "Mickey" (Mariam) Bertrand, George Bertrand, Marguerite "Moggy" Lindsey, Charlotte Bertrand, and Virginia "Ginny" Hill; several nieces and nephews, and her cat, Sam.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Theodore 'Teddy' Bertrand; sister-in-law, Alice Bertrand; brother-in-laws, Don Lindsey and Brent Hill.
The funeral service for Patricia A. Baltisberger will be held 11:00 am Saturday, November 22nd, at Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends and family from 9:00 am until the time of service. Interment will be at a later date in the Aspen Grove Cemetery Columbarium. Cremation will be accorded following the service.
A memorial has been established for the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House.
