Patty was born at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis Indiana. She is the fourth daughter born to Lois June Franklin and Dr. William L Franklin. She lived in Indianapolis, throughout her life but loved to travel, and has taken many wonderful vacations over the years-Florida, Colorado, California, Puerto Rico, Costa Rico, Mexico, etc.
Patty loved animals and has had numerous pets (dogs, birds, cats) all of which have had good care and long lives.. Currently she had a 5-year old tom cat named Barley/Henry, and is a grandma to Michael’s little minature daushound, Auggie.
Patty learned retail sales and leadership when she was manager of stationary stores for over 15 years. She also owned a stationary store in Broad Ripple called Scribbles. The store specialized in custom made wedding and party invitations. After leaving the retail business, she worked for 12 years for Dr. Joseph Wheat as he was establishing MiraVista Diagnostics. It is currently one of the premier fungal labs in the country. Patty loved to plan, organize and conduct gatherings and thus helped MiraVista evolve into a people centered organizational culture.
Patty endured many years of disabling rheumatoid arthritis, and diabetes but continued to remain positive and strong in her attitude toward life. For the last several years she has become an avid and dedicated Facebook contributor with many followers.
Patty is survived by her son, Abraham and his wife Christine, her sisters, Candace and Ginger, Her adoptive daughters Hannah and Toni, her brother-in-law Joe, her nieces and nephews, Heather, Abby, Emerson, Tony, Kurt and all their children plus her dearest and closest friends Michael & Deb.
