Funeral services celebrating the life of Patricia Ann Blue, 85, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at Rose-Neath Funeral Home. Burial to follow the service at Forest Park East Cemetery, 3700 St Vincent Ave, Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Brother Shane Nugent.
Pat passed away on Nov. 18, 2022, at home in her sleep as she had wished. She was born March 18, 1937, in Longview, Texas, to William Dale Blue and Elizabeth Swann Blue.
Pat graduated from Fair Park in 1955 and then attended Baylor University before returning to Shreveport to start her working career for Swepco. She was an avid sports fan of baseball (Shreveport Captains) and football (Dallas Cowboys and LSU Tigers). She also enjoyed pro golf and attended golf tournaments throughout the years with Peggy. She had been an active member of several churches in Shreveport and Bossier, including Trinity Heights Baptist Church and Cross Point Baptist Church. She had a deep faith that was based on Bible study and daily service to others. Pat was an excellent cook and provided meals for families in times of need and illness. Her desserts were a highlight of church functions.
Pat had a calm, loving nature. She found strength in God’s word to face daily challenges with a smile. “It is well with my Soul” best explains Pat’s acceptance with her life and her thankfulness to Jesus Christ for His love.
Left to cherish her memory are many friends from church and work. Pat’s dearest friend, Peggy Standifer; and her sister, Shirley Rogers have become her family over the years.
Pat planned her final resting place 26 years ago when she buried her mother with the words from Romans 8:38-39. Now she joins her parents resting in the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:38-39
“For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Honoring Pat as pallbearers will be Jason Junath, Warren Windham, Chuck Duncan, Mark Morgan, Jerry Boreate, and Jimmy Allen. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Bruce George and Les Dillahunty.
Peggy Standifer and her family would like to thank Regional Hospice for the kind care they provided to Pat during the last months of her life. They also wish to express thanks to Johnna Kunath and Nona Morgan and all the friends who came to visit Pat and help care for her.
