Patricia Lynn Brown, 76, of Garden City, passed away peacefully on Sunday October 19, 2025 surrounded by the love of her family.
Pat was born on September 6, 1949, in Garden City, Kansas, to Donald Edward Shea and Mary Lou Shea (McQuerrey). She grew up in Ulysses, Kansas, alongside her twin sister, Pamela Carloss. Pat graduated from Ulysses High School and went on to attend Hutchinson Community College.
Early in her career, Pat worked at Garden Medical for Dr. Miller, where a twist of fate brought her together with the love of her life, Terry Brown. The two married on October 13, 1979, and together built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and partnership. They raised four children: Kirk, Kelly, Trent, and Chad.
Pat had a strong work ethic and later worked at Peoples Natural Gas for many years. Together, she and Terry founded TL Brown Trucking and Garden City Truck Wash, a business they proudly ran side by side. Their bond was strong both in business and in life-they shared many joys, including cheering on their favorite sports teams, bowling in leagues, golfing, and especially traveling to watch Nebraska football games.
A true sports fan, Pat was passionate about KU Basketball, Nebraska Football, and the Kansas City Chiefs. She also had a soft spot for animals and loved spoiling her dog, Sheba. Known for her style and flair, Pat always made time to keep her hair and nails perfectly done.
Above all, Pat was devoted to her family. She was a proud mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who found her greatest joy in time spent with loved ones. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Terry Brown; her children Kirk, Kelly, Trent (Lauren), and Chad (April); her grandchildren Kelsie (Jacob), Carly, Brooklyn, Greyson, Dayton, Katelynn, and Adalie; and her great-grandsons Cutler and Bentley. She is also survived by her sister Pamela Carloss, her niece Whitney and nephew Weston.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Mary Lou Shea, and her brother-in-law, Jim Carloss.
Pat will be remembered for her warmth, her vibrant spirit, and the deep love she had for her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and cherished memories.
A celebration of Pat's life will be held at a later date.
