Amy C. Huschka, 70, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 4, 2025, in Garden City, Kansas. She was born on November 17, 1954, in York, Nebraska, the daughter of Richard & Esther (Winans) Lundquist.
Amy grew up in York, graduated from York High School in 1973. At the age of 18, she embarked on a career in the beef industry, starting at Sunflower Beef Packers in York, NE. She later joined Beef Products Inc. in Holcomb, KS, where she was employed until her retirement.
In 1992, Amy's employment relocated her to Garden City, Kansas, where she met Gerald "Jerry" Huschka. They married on February 2, 2002, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their furry children were their beloved cats. They were married for 18 years before Gerald's passing on November 10, 2020.
In January of this year, Amy relocated to York, Nebraska. She recently returned to Garden City and resided at Garden Valley Retirement Village. Our heartfelt gratitude to Connie Luginsland, Amy's roommate, for her unwavering kindness and friendship.
Amy is preceded in death by her husband, parents, grandparents, brother Richard "Dick" Lundquist, and nephew Chad Weldon.
Survivors include her sisters Ann Morgan, York, NE, and Sharon Genners, Omaha, NE; niece Terry Pemberton, Ozark, MO; nephew Miles Morgan of York, NE; plus several other nieces and nephews. Beloved friends Lidia Sotelo, Garden City, KS; Brian Hansberry and Renee Hansberry, Garden City, KS; and Nadine Moser, Lincoln, NE. Her husband's siblings: Celeste (Brent) Petersen, Garden City, KS; Rosemary (Rick) Corbett, Garden City, KS; JoAnn (Jeff) Yager, Wichita, KS; James (Sherry) Huschka, Ottawa, KS; Bernard (Merrie) Huschka, Garden City, KS; and Mark Huschka, Kansas City, MO.
Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery, York, Nebraska.
