Patricia Carlyle Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 1, 2025.
Patricia G. Carlyle, 82, of Virginia Beach, went to be with the Lord on September 15, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on May 21, 1943, in North Carolina to Pauline Bryant and Charlie Thompson, Patricia was the heart and soul of her family-a woman of quiet strength, creativity, and unwavering love.
Patricia found joy in the simple things in life. She had a lifelong passion for painting, gardening, and reading, and spent countless happy hours crafting with her hands and heart. Whether it was a walk through a garden center, browsing the windows of her favorite shops, or sitting with a good book, she embraced the world with curiosity and warmth. But her greatest joy came from time spent with her family, whom she cherished above all else.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Donna Carlyle; her loving grandsons, Eric Midget, Wesley Olivey, and Jayme Carlyle (Danyelle Ritchie); and her great-granddaughter, Ashlynn Carlyle, who brought a special light to her later years. Patricia also leaves behind her sisters Becky Clary, Shirley Caviness, and Vera Williams, as well as many beloved extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Carlyle; her sons, Timothy Carlyle and Jamie Carlyle; her sister, Shelby Diver; her brother, Stoney Thompson; and her parents, Pauline and Charlie Thompson.
Though our hearts are heavy with her passing, Patricia's legacy of love, creativity, and resilience lives on in every flower that blooms, every story shared, and every memory held dear.
A service will be held on October 11, 2025, at 11:00am at Putnam Friends Church located at 136 Putnam Church Rd, Carthage, NC 28327.
Coastal Cremations is assisting the family with the arrangements.
