Patricia Cruzen Obituary
Patricia Daphene Cruzen, 89, of New Braunfels, Texas, formerly of Centralia passed away on June 25, 2024 after a brief illness. She was a 67 year former resident of Centralia and the Walnut Hill area.
Born on August 30, 1934 in Marlow Oklahoma to Elliott and Juanita (Beavers) Harrison. She married Roger Lee Cruzen in Midwest City, Oklahoma on May 17, 1953. They were married for 58 years before his death November 17, 2011.
She is survived by her daughter Nita (Daryl) Hausmann, daughter-in-law Kim (Jones) Cruzen, granddaughter Jeana Hausmann, grandson Karl Hausmann (Emily), and 5 great-grandchildren, Wade Krause; Henry, Harper, Riley, and Landry Hausmann. Several nieces, a nephew and a special cousin, Joyce Cantwell in Oklahoma.
Patricia (Daphene) was a 1952 graduate of Midwest City High School, business school and took several accounting classes at Kaskaskia College.
Along with her husband, Daphene was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Charlene Coleman, her son David Cruzen, her grandson Kirk Cruzen and her in-laws F.L. and Mary Cruzen.
Daphene was a loving wife and stay at home mother until Nita was old enough to drive. She then went to work in the office at Hollywood Brands. She worked there for 25 years in the file room, accounting, and cost accounting departments.
She was a long time member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Centralia. She was an active member of the Young Adults Class, Christian Women's Fellowship where she served in many positions. She was also the youth choir mother, Sunday School teacher, helped with bible study meals, funeral dinners, and friendship meals for many years.
Daphene was a dedicated mother who never missed a game, performance, contest or awards ceremony for her children. Since moving to Texas two years ago to be near family, she enjoyed attending the school activities and programs, sporting events, dance recitals and other extra-curricular activities of her 5 great-grandchildren.
Daphene had many interests – reading, genealogy and collecting antiques. She was the owner of Walnut Hill Antiques.
Per her wishes, graveside services will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park on Friday, July 26, 2024 at 11:00A.M. with Rev Paula Comper officiating, where Patricia will be laid to rest next to her husband, Roger. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her honor to either the American Cancer Society or First Christian Church Living Memorial fund – Cruzen Family account. Memorials will be accepted at Irvin Macz Funeral Home who is assisting the family with arrangements.
