Mary Cruzen Obituary Mary Lynn Cruzen (formerly VanPinsker), Lynn as she was affectionately known, born on May 13, 1941, in Evanston, IL, was sent to her eternal home on March 04, 2025 due to multiple complications from lung cancer. She is the beloved mother of Scott (June) VanPinsker and Paul (Sherri) VanPinsker.
Lynn is the cherished grandmother of Olivia, Ethan, Molly, and fur babies Summer and Peggles VanPinsker, and Braden and Brianna Cruzen and soon to be great grandmother to Elliana. She leaves behind many dear friends whom she spoke with or played cards with weekly, her nephews Richard and Eugene and niece Noelle. After her graduation with a Registered Nurses degree, she worked for many years at the St. Lukes South Shore Oncology Clinic where over the past 8 months she appreciated the care from the staff she considered friends as well.
Those who knew Lynn will remember her for her caring nature and kindness. Outside of friend time, Lynn found joy in painting, sewing, and especially loved shopping. Lynn was a woman who had to be dressed up to take a car ride to the bank and would not be seen without painted lips.
Although Lynns physical presence may no longer grace our lives, her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May her memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth her legacy of love and compassion in all that we do. A private gathering to honor the life of Mary Lynn Cruzen will be held on a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to your favorite charity in Lynns name. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Mary, please visit our Tree Store.
