Patricia "Pat" Dausener, 83, of Dubuque, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Mercy Medical Center.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6, at Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 John F. Kennedy Rd., Dubuque. Visitation will continue from 9 a.m. until the 10 a.m. Funeral Service on Thursday, August 7, at Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Funeral Home and Crematory. Deacon Keith McCarraher will officiate. Interment will be in Linwood Cemetery.
Pat was born November 23, 1941 in Prairie du Chien, WI, the daughter of Robert and Betty (Marshall) Weed. She graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in 1959. Pat married Phillip Dausener on April 23, 1960 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, and they recently celebrated 65 years of marriage.
Pat was employed in various positions at William C. Brown Publishing, and at McGraw Hill, until her retirement.
Pat was a wonderful homemaker, who enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, canning, and baking her legendary pecan rolls. She was an avid quilter, and made many family heirlooms over the years. Pat also enjoyed doing puzzles, traveling with Phillip, spending time with her dogs, and playing cards. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who took great pride in her family, and loved them all dearly.
Pat is survived by her husband of 65 years, Phillip Dausener, of Dubuque; three children, Dana (Dale Winter) Van Ostrand, of Dubuque, Janette (Tim) Bird, of Greenwood, IN, and Kenneth (DeAnna) Dausener, of New Vienna, IA; her grandchildren, Uriah and Olivia Van Ostrand, Ian (Kay) Bird, Lindsey (Jordan) King, and Joshua Dausener; her great-grandchildren, Tatum Van Ostrand, Korie Bird, and Delilah and Rowan King; her brother, Michael (Amy) Weed, of Little Rock, AR; her sister-in-law, Phyllis Cottrell, of Dubuque; several nieces and nephews; and her dogs, Pixie and Ria.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Diane (Arthur) Imbus; her step-father, James Brennan; her step-mother, Evelyn Weed; her mother-in- law, Theresa Dausener; her brother-in-law, Roger Cottrell; and her sister-in-law, Thelma (Fred) Koehler.
