Patricia Daye Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 2, 2025.
Patricia Louise Daye (Lenio), 80, went to her heavenly home on September 27, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was a loving mother, cherished grandmother and beloved wife of 35 years.

Born in Somerset, Pennsylvania, Patricia was the oldest of five children. She graduated from Shade Central City Senior High School in 1963 with a scholarship for nursing school. She attended Allegheny General Hospital School of Nursing and graduated in 1966 as a Registered Nurse (RN).

In 1967 she married her first husband, Joe Fedorko, and by 1973 their family included two sons. While living in Maryland, Patricia worked at Cheverly General Hospital as an RN supporting patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Cardiac Care Unit (CCU). Eventually, the family moved to Virginia where Patricia worked as an RN for Alexandria Hospital in the Medical Oncology Unit and the Medical-Surgical unit. The last 25 years of her career were spent working as a Certified Case Manager/Certified Disability Management Specialist (CCM/CDMS) with Concentra Managed Care, Inc. and Central Rehabilitation Association (CRA).

In 1990, Patricia married the love of her life, Walter Daye Jr., and they spent a wonderful 35 years together. The beach was their happy place, where they enjoyed a week each spring and fall with family and friends at the Outer Banks, North Carolina and Topsail Island, North Carolina. In 2001, Patricia and Walter moved to the Shenandoah Valley in Winchester, Virginia where they spent the next 20 years. Many treasured memories were made at their Bently home, which included spending evenings together on their backyard patio watching the sun set, hosting family get-togethers where the grandchildren would play in the backyard, preparing meals using vegetables from their garden, babysitting the "grand pups", and enjoying country life. In 2023, they moved to Purcellville, Virginia, which enabled Patricia to be closer to her family and doctors. Her greatest joy was her family, and she was very thankful she was able to attend a mini family reunion in Williamsburg, Virginia this past June.

Patricia was the loving wife of Walter Daye Jr., beloved Mother of Daniel Fedorko (Brenda), and Keith Fedorko (Shirin), cherished Grandmother to Matthew Fedorko, Megan Fedorko, Sofia Fedorko, Ben Doerr, Tim Doerr, Shannon Sigmon, and William Sigmon. Her surviving brothers are Tom Lenio (Diane) of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, and Randy Lenio (Millie) of Somerset, Pennsylvania. She is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins, whom she cared for deeply.

Patricia was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Louise Lenio, her brother Daniel Lenio, her sister Antoinette "Toni" Boyd, and numerous aunts and uncles, whom she adored.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Leesburg Community Church, 835 Lee Avenue SW, Leesburg, VA 20175 on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 11:00 AM with a reception immediately following. Per Patricia's wishes, the family requests guests wear color as a tribute to her wonderful life.
